To display the vocabulary and examples I utilize for explaining grammar, I make use of a script. The majority of the conversation and examples I refer to will also be presented in written form. Here, I document all the necessary information for you to follow the lesson. To view the text exercises, examples, and my script, I will share my screen with you.   ​

The online German lessons will adhere to the same curriculum outlined above. Homework for each lesson, along with the script, will be sent to you via email after each session.

I provide bilingual German lessons where I explain Grammar in English (especially at A1 & A2 level), covering all topics with bilingual (English-German) text exercises. Additionally, text exercises include audio files to help you practice your German comprehension skills.

The lessons are very efficient, and held once a week. The focus is primarily on basic grammar necessary for mastering the German language in everyday situations or to pass exams.

BASIC TOPICS (16 Lessons)

(1) Verb conjugation, (2) basic sentence structure, (3) negation, (4) strong and irregular verbs in the present tense, (5-6) personal pronouns in Nominative and Accusative, (7) future tense, (8) modal verbs "wollen," "müssen," "können," (9) modal verbs "dürfen," "müssen," "sollen," (10) difference between "müssen," "brauchen," "möchten," "mögen," (11) adverbs "gerne" and "lieber," (12) difference between "wissen" and "kennen," (13) personal pronouns in Dative, (14) different meanings of "werden" and "bekommen," (16) basic past tense.​

WHER TO MEET?

The weekly lessons will be conducted on Zoom. I prefer Zoom because it is easier to use for teaching German and often provides better sound and video quality compared to other platforms.

INTERNET SPEED

WHAT DO I NEED? 

A 16 Mbits download speed is entirely sufficient for online lessons. Therefore, if you have a standard internet connection suitable for streaming movies, you are ready for your first online German lesson. A LAN connection (cable) is usually faster than Wifi!

SCREEN & CAMERA

To enhance your experience during German online lessons, a larger screen is always beneficial. I use an iMac for my tutoring sessions, but a laptop works just as well. Ensure that your screen or laptop is equipped with a camera. ​​   

SOUND EQUIPMENT

DO I NEED A MICROPHONE?

Good audio quality is crucial. A better microphone will help me understand you better, thereby improving the quality of your German lessons. While a headset is not mandatory, it is recommended. Headphones may be necessary if you use a small laptop with internal speakers."​​​

The A2 level lessons will introduce you to all the grammar and vocabulary you need to hold a basic conversation in present and past tense. You will learn more advanced forms of past tense, very important verb forms like spreadable verbs and reflexive verbs and you will learn about dependent clause sentence structure and very useful concoctions.​​

A2 CURRICULUM 

BASIC TOPICS (16 Lessons)

(1-2) present perfect: verbs with "haben" and verbs with "sein", (3) past tense of the full-verb "sein", (4) past tense of the full-verb "haben", (5) irregular verbs in past tense, (6) simple past (Präteritum) of model verbs, (7) separable verbs, (8-10) reflexive verbs, (11-12) dependent clause sentence structure: conjunctions "wenn, wann, als",    (13) "weil" versus "wegen", (14) "damit" versus "um...zu", (15) "dass, ob, wenn", (16) "Infinitiv with zu".

* CANCELLATION POLICY: As these are group lessons, I cannot offer a refund in case you miss a class. In the event that I am unable to conduct the course or a specific lesson, a refund will be provided accordingly.

HOW DO I PAY?

All online lessons must be paid in advance. If the course needs to be canceled, a refund will be issued. Otherwise the payment is not refundable. Payments for lessons can be made through PayPal. Additionally, I require your email address to send you the Zoom link. If you do not have a PayPal account, you can also make a transfer to my bank account. You will receive my IBAN when you receive the invoice. I use N26 as my business account.

This course covers the most basic grammatical topics you really need to learn for a solid A1 level. The lessons are for students who want to learn German while working. Therefore you will have one lesson per week, 90 minutes each plus intensive homework for each lesson. ​​
